Just some of the reviews Engulfed : In the Past has received 5.0 out of 5 stars Pleasantly Engulfed in the Past March 24, 2012 By Stuart Forrest Format:PaperbackI really knew nothing about this book, but was pleased on this rainy saturday to sit and devour it.It was a very good plot and was woven and tied together masterfully. With the rain falling on the roof as a backdrop, I felt as though I was a part of the story and became engulfed in this book. Though I wish it had of been longer and could have more information on the murderer but I guess I'll be waiting for a sequell and another rainny day.It was cool the way the girl was able to use her surroundings to defend herself and get help to the others. Beleivable is important. The way people used to visit back and forth and things that were important to them was helpful in drawing me into the plot.I found myself wanting to experience the christmas season with them in that era. 5.0 out of 5 stars engulfed had me consumed July 28, 2012 By avid reader Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase engulfed in the past had me from page one. I thought it was a great book that was an easy and relaxing read on a nice spring day. I lay in my hammock out on the porch and let engulfed carry me back to a simpler time. The author gave a great amount of detail in creating her story and it was easy to follow along with even for some one who isn't a real hitory fan. I wish it were longer can't wait for the next edition of this serial series. Good luck to you Ms. Kane on your future endevors this was a great little book . 5.0 out of 5 stars waiting August 7, 2012 By michele I thought the book to be addictive couldn't put it down now i am inpatient waiting for the next one to come. Anonymous Posted August 23, 2012 when I first picked up this book I was sceptical, I had never heard of Jennifer Kane but the cover art drew me in. And that is where I stayed after I started reading I found my self wondering who the killers were and if Jane had a chance of defeating them and her mysterious silence. This was well worth the read , well done Ms.Kane I can't wait for your sequel. My only complaint was that I wanted it to be longer . But then I figured may be she was going for a serial novel, like the green mile originally came in print. what ever the case I wait in anticpation for the next book Karen I've really enjoyed reading this book. I love the era it is set in even though I know most men in this era don't think very highly of women who think for themselves , but I do love that Jane is independent and smart and is courageous. I look forward to reading the sequel which I hope comes out soon and I hope it has just as much detail and mystery as the first. :) |
